Big batt fun. . .

. . .over at the Scenic Turnout.

What's a batt?

It is fiber that is carded on a carding machine. A big batt can be used for many things. If it's just an undyed fleece, it can be used as a quilt filling. It can be used to do felting. And lastly, it can be used for spinning, which is my particular love.

I've been felting a little. Right now, just from a pattern I got at the Lewiston Winter Farmers' Market. It's fun!

I was felting last night when and discovered it was fun, too. For whatever reason, in the past I thought felting was "eh." Maybe I didn't have great fibers to work with, who knows? Enjoy yourself!
